About the Agency
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority), a statutory corporation within Planning & Environment cluster within the NSW Government, was established to proactively reduce the impact of future disasters across NSW and to help communities recover from them faster.
We will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses, and all levels of government to reduce the impact natural disasters have on our lives.
When disasters occur, our staff will work closely with emergency services and community leaders to understand what local communities will need to recover. Once the immediate threat has eased, we will lead recovery efforts in collaboration with community leaders and other recovery partners.
About the role
This is a great opportunity to join the Enterprise Project Management Office. The role is responsible for supporting RA project teams in the uptake and implementation of the Project Management framework, methodologies, and tools to deliver a range of complex program and project initiatives for the benefit of NSW Communities.
Key responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):
- Identify needs and create initiatives that enhance Project Management capability and capacity to deliver project outcomes successfully.
- Collaborate with agency colleagues to kick-off projects and provide ongoing support to identified priority projects including coaching in Agile or Waterfall approaches of project delivery.
- Work collaboratively with Project Sponsors across the Authority including senior executives, to support teams across the project lifecycle.
- Create tools and dashboards that enable the consistent and effective Management and reporting of project initiatives and outcomes to provide a ‘one source of truth'.
- Monitor and evaluate project implementation including assessing project progress, change management plans and provide advice and information to stakeholders and decision makers on current and emerging project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigations in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, and competing priorities.
- Lead and participate in business process improvement and support teams with understanding the problem and develop evidence-based options and solutions.
About you
The successful applicant will also demonstrate:
- Sound experience project governance and management, business improvement or business planning in a multifaceted service delivery environment with a solid understanding of how to build capability and support in others to enhance the delivery of project outcomes.
- Experience in facilitating and supporting multi-disciplined stakeholders, maintaining professional relationships, and providing advice and support at all levels.
- Experience in Agile project methodologies, system thinking, Human-Centered Design, and Project Management training is also desirable.
