The role
Reporting to the Director, Disability and Multicultural Health Unit or the Director, Aged Care and Palliative Care Reform you will provide timely and well-researched strategic policy advice to senior management in Queensland Health and to the Minister for Health in relation to Queensland Health's position at a whole-of-government level. You will also oversee, formulate, and manage the development and implementation of appropriate Branch and Departmental strategic and inter-agency policies, protocols, and communication strategies.
Furthermore, you will develop tools and provide training in their application to assist staff to achieve strategic policy and service planning outcomes, and to assist with knowledge transfer.
The successful person
The be successful in this role you will be a strong leader with experience managing teams and leading policy projects. You will be a strong negotiator with a proven track record in engaging with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have a demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality written materials, such as briefs and correspondence, for a range of audiences. You will have extensive knowledge in, and experience with, aged care or palliative care, or disability and multicultural health issues including the NDIS and the disability and health interface, multicultural, refugee and asylum seeker health, or Hospital and Health Service settings.
In addition to this, you will have the proven ability to communicate with influence, interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to cultivate productive working relationships and networks.
