Job description

At Queensland Rail we are positioning ourselves to recruit smarter, faster, and better!  We are looking for a passionate, results-oriented leader with a knack for building connections and a collaborative spirit to take the helm.  So, if you are looking for the opportunity where you can make a positive difference and empower our people, we want to hear from you.

At Queensland Rail, our success is built on the dedication and talent of our incredible people, spread across the vast and diverse landscape of Queensland. From the bustling southeast corner to the majestic beauty of Kuranda, our teams connect communities and make a real difference in every region we serve.

We face challenges head-on, supporting and learning from each other every step of the way. But what truly sets us apart is the genuine connections and camaraderie we build. You'll join a team of down-to-earth, collaborative individuals who are passionate about what they do, making a real difference in the communities they serve.

In the newly created role as Manager Recruitment, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of Queensland Rail by leading and inspiring our recruitment team to make a positive impact for the business.

Here's what you'll do:
•    Lead the charge: Develop and implement a company-wide recruitment strategy that attracts top talent and aligns with our organisational goals, recognising the unique needs of our diverse locations.
•    Innovation champion: Explore and implement innovative ways to improve our recruitment processes, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve.
•    Talent magnet: Oversee a vast range of recruitment campaigns including high-volume campaigns for apprentices, graduates, and trainees, showcasing Queensland Rail as an employer of choice across the state.
•    Data whiz: Analyse recruitment data and leverage insights to inform strategic decision making, ensuring we build strong teams for every region.
•    Planning pro: Develop project plans and manage risks for significant recruitment campaigns, ensuring successful outcomes across Queensland.
•    Relationship builder: Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration across the network.
•    Team player: Lead and motivate your recruitment team, fostering a high-performing and results-oriented environment.

To thrive in this role, you'll bring:
•    Proven track record: Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing recruitment teams.
•    Strategic thinker: A strong analytical mind and the ability to develop innovative recruitment strategies.
•    Recruitment expert: Extensive knowledge of contemporary recruitment practices and best practices in talent sourcing.
•    Communication maestro: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills to build trust and influence stakeholders.
•    Problem-solver: The ability to assess challenges and develop effective solutions.
