The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) plays a crucial role in shaping the Australian economy through its pursuit of national economic policy objectives. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Security Engineering to join our Workplace Department.

As the Manager, Security Engineering, you will lead a small team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electronic security systems across our Victorian facilities. Your role involves collaborating with clients, managing contracts, and ensuring successful project delivery.

You will be working in a positive and professional team environment developing and recommending appropriate strategies and risk treatment measures in coordination with senior management.

Your background

  • Operational Experience: You have a proven track record in technical security management, leading small teams, and effectively managing assets.

  • Physical Security Expertise: Your strong understanding of physical security, risk management, and prioritization informs your decision-making.

  • Contract Management: You excel in managing large contracts and service providers, including developing technical specifications, negotiating contracts, and awarding them.

  • Strategic Thinking: You can prepare briefs, conduct feasibility studies, and make informed recommendations on security proposals.

  • Maintenance Coordination: You coordinate preventive maintenance programs and minor works efficiently.

  • Team Leadership: Your experience leading and motivating independent project teams is a valuable asset.

  • Interpersonal Skills: You negotiate effectively with internal stakeholders, major tenants, and contractors.

  • Financial Acumen: You understand financial management processes.

  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in engineering are essential.

  • Security Clearance: You will be required to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Your team

You’ll be part of RBA’s Workplace Department, responsible for managing the Bank’s physical assets and ensuring workplace safety, efficiency, and availability.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Security & Risk in New South Wales, you’ll collaborate closely with the onsite Victorian physical security operations team and the New South Wales physical security team.
