About this role

Due to increased market demand, we are looking to strengthen our Sydney Financial Modelling team with the addition of a Manager or Senior Manager.

In this unique role, you’ll combine your proficiency in creating sophisticated and intuitive financial models with your comprehensive understanding of the transaction lifecycle.

Your client group will include a diverse range of organisations including private equity firms, leading infrastructure funds, mid-size corporates, and the public sector. Financial Modelling team members also have the opportunity to get involved in other aspects of transactions where desired, supporting our Mergers and Acquisitions, Debt and Project Finance teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Financial modelling – Develop and maintain complex financial models that analyse historical data, forecast future performance, and evaluate potential business opportunities
  • Bespoke client service – Perform advanced Financial Modelling customised and tailored to individual client needs (M&A, LBO, Project Finance, FP&A) in preparation for investment and execution
  • Analysis and reporting – Develop financial feasibility studies and financial and commercial investment cases for greenfield and brownfield investments
  • Presentation and storytelling – Support the development of presentations for a wide set of audiences, conveying the sector narrative, strategy, development program and financial implications
  • Leadership – Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members, ensuring their professional growth and fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture
  • Business development – Collaborate with the wider Advisory team to identify new business opportunities and enhance client relationships

Skills and experience

  • Strong skillset in Financial Modelling in a professional or financial services environment
  • Significant experience in Deal Advisory, Business Enterprise Valuation, and / or Corporate Finance in a professional or financial services environment
  • Sound accounting knowledge and a general understanding of Accounting Standards
  • An analytical and curious mindset focused on how businesses are structured and how they can be modelled effectively, keeping in mind important industry-specific KPIs
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to provide coaching and leadership to other team members
  • Strong interest in business development and client engagement
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, as well as general competency in other Microsoft Office software
