• Multiple full-time fixed term opportunities (of up to 3 years) available

• Salary range: $131,094 to $151,609 pa + super

The (DRNSW) Strategy, Corporate and Performance (SCP) division are currently seeking experienced Strategic Intelligence Managers to join the Intelligence, Data and Evidence team.

Depending on the role you might be helping to attract new and growing businesses to regional NSW or continuing to work to make our regions a great place to live, work and play. Some of the tasks you will undertake will include:

• Managing a team responsible for generating and communicating insightful industry and regional analysis to support strategic and tactical decision making for current and future opportunities across the Department
• Gathering quantitative and qualitative data from a range of sources and communicating complex issues simply, clearly and effectively in different forums to a range of stakeholders.
• Managing projects and ensuring resources are focused on supporting strategic objectives.
• Identifying opportunities and leading projects to develop and implement innovative approaches to solving complex business problems
• Managing and balancing a broad range of reactive and proactive intelligence work across DRNSW.
• Designing and developing initiatives, tools or reports to enhance current operations.
• Building and maintaining strong productive internal and external networks to establish avenues of inquiry, data and intelligence sharing and collaboration opportunities.

What do you need to be successful?
To be successful you will need to have:

• Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, practical experience, and a demonstrated ability to form insights and draw conclusions based on analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
• Experience with data to support social policy and/or data supporting investment decisions
• The ability to communicate complex and/or technical issues simply, clearly and effectively in different forums to a range of stakeholders
• Demonstrated organisational skills and experience in leading teams
• Proven ability to show initiative and work collaboratively towards a shared outcome
• An ability to foster strong working relationships in a cross-government work environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with SQL, R, Python or similar analytical software packages or programs
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, from any discipline that involves quantitative and qualitative analysis (eg science, technology, engineering, social analysis, statistics, mathematics, economics, actuarial studies)
