Reporting to the Strategy & Performance Lead, the Manager, Retail Planning and Strategy, plays a key role in the Retail Bank, providing support and an integrated view across Retail business activities and performance.The role is responsible for contributing to strategy and business planning, prioritisation of change initiatives, undertaking deep dives and building capability to drive effective business performance. The role is heavily involved the annual business planning and change prioritisation process, business forecasting and target setting, business performance monitoring and reporting and analysis to drive effective management decision making.What You'll Do
- Drive the annual strategy, business planning and budgeting process, including prioritisation of change portfolio- coordinating across Retail teams and working with Finance and other bank Business Management/ Planning functions and Executives
- Timely performance analysis, ad hoc reporting (deep dives, team and management reporting) and insights to support the Retail Bank in achieving targets and plan, meeting key metrics and KPI’s and informing strategic decision making
- Work with Tribes in the development of business cases and strategic initiatives and prioritisation of change investment to deliver on strategic outcomes and demonstrate benefits
- Lead development of strategy presentations and input into bank wide and global business reviews to support Retail Bank management (eg. Strategic Dialogue, Retail Alignment Sessions, QPC, Strategy Offsites)
- Preparation and leadership of Retail Bank offsites, strategy workshops and input to ExCo and Board presentations and strategy discussions
- Establish performance scorecards, governance and monitoring activities to support business growth and drive effective leadership decision making
- Ad hoc analysis and leading cross functional initiatives aligned to growth strategy eg. opportunity analysis, P&L gap assessments and cost optimisation opportunities, M&A assessments, benefits realisation tracking, model and metric development, KPI setting and alignment, strategic investment prioritisation
- 10+ Years Experience in Finance, Financial Risk or Business Management within a FS environment
- Deep understanding of Retail banking products, cost and revenue drivers and financial performance levers
- 2+ Years Experience in a strategy consulting role within Financial Services- either with a consulting company or as part of an in-house consulting team
- Ability to provide critical review and challenge to business cases and product proposals
- Previous experience in development and management of financial models
