Job description

  • Lead impactful student experiences at USYD as our Manager, Student Journey and Engagement
  • Full time, fixed term until 18th July 2025
  • Base Salary between $140,913 - $148,684 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity

The Student Life Team at the University of Sydney is dedicated to enhancing the student experience through comprehensive support programs, initiatives, promotions and events. They work collaboratively with faculties, schools, and student organisations, ensuring a vibrant and supportive campus environment.

As the Student Journey and Engagement Manager, you will lead and oversee the implementation of student support programs, initiatives, and events. This role is integral to enhancing student engagement and ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the Office of Student Life, making a significant impact on the student experience at the University of Sydney.

Reporting to the Head, Student Life, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • collaborate with faculties, schools, central teams, and student organisations
  • enhance university-wide student support programs for coherent experiences and timely communication
  • lead the design and execution of major student events, like Welcome and orientations, aligning with strategic goals
  • foster strategic relations within the Student Life cluster and across the University, promoting student-focused strategies
  • design and implement processes supporting the continuity of student support services
  • use data-driven decision-making to refine and enhance service delivery processes
  • manage resources effectively, setting short-term goals for efficient service delivery.

  • demonstrated experience working in a tertiary education environment
  • experience in people management, including managing staff performance and development
  • working knowledge of budgeting, financial expenditure, and funding schemes is highly desirable
  • experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures
  • strong background in education and student experience programs
  • excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
