Our client is an established, world leading European manufacturer of advanced medical devices, hospital equipment and other healthcare accessories. They are recognised worldwide for their innovative solutions within the hospital, advanced and long-term care facilities and the in-home market. These solutions are designed in collaboration with healthcare professionals and scientific fields to develop features and functions explicitly focused on increased patient comfort. The company is experiencing growth in the Australian and Regional marketplace and now requires a Managing Director to drive strategy and achieve commercial, sales and distribution goals in the region.
The Managing Director will report to the European head office and will be responsible for the management of a distribution network and influencing profitable growth while applying the commercial strategy. Through heightened business development activities the Managing Director will also be accountable for identifying new projects and potential business growth areas and acting on those leads. This role will lead and develop the local office team and take responsibility for Australia and New Zealand management. Knowledge of various health care products and industry practices with experience in setting business plans and goals, servicing existing accounts, obtaining orders, and establishing new accounts will be mandatory. Autonomy in planning and organising daily work schedules to call on existing or potential customers and sales outlets is vital as you will be a key participant in the resolution of customer enquiries, developing solutions and preparing reports.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual with senior management experience and will possess a strong sales drive and operational knowledge with a hands-on and can do approach to business. This role requires you to have excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, as well as demonstrated abilities to set KPI’s, deliver on company and customer expectations and with a capability to achieve on ambitious growth and profitability targets. It is vital you have the aptitude to partner with a broad range of stakeholders and build strong relationships in the marketplace.
As a senior leader in the organisation you are required to have a strategic focus with demonstrated experience in sales, marketing, business development and operations. This position requires at least 10 years sales experience with a demonstrated senior leadership capability and the ability to influence credibly and effectively at all levels in a client’s organization. Tertiary qualifications are a necessity and degrees in business, management or health will be highly regarded.
