Your Opportunity

As Fitter & Turner with Component Services you will be responsible for the overall project coordination of the machining and processing workshops, as directed by the Machineshop Lead Hand.

Your Responsibilities will include but not be limited to..
  • Being accountable for monitoring allocated maintenance projects times and productivity on projects, as well as general housekeeping. 
  • Reading, comprehending and applying technical drawings.
  • Responsible for tracking hours against schedules and notifying internal managers immediately of job overruns, including hours, schedule and/or costing. 
  • Contribute to identifying and raising ASR’s and actioning when approved, as well as monitoring whether to action or not, rejected ASR’s by the  Machineshop Lead Hand . 
  • ASR’s are raised at the time of identification or additional work and are accurate.
  • Monitor the coordination of workshop project slots and liaise with Machineshop Lead Hand to identify and run overs. 
  • Provide direction to engineers and maintenance employees to assist them to meet budgets and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor and communication with the Machineshop Lead Hand, the Project and Planning teams machining turnaround times (i.e. late or on time). 
  • Contribute to the monitoring of preventive maintenance employee regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor the allocation of manpower to various projects, as well as the prioritisation of people to identified job tasks to various projects and job tasks within the facility. 
  • Liaise with the Operations Manager and Machineshop Leading Hand with the request of sub-contractors, when required. 
  • Actively support and participate in the Jet Aviation Australia Core Values and Safety, Security and Environment policies and procedures as detailed in the Jet Aviation Australia Governance Policies Manual. 
  • Ensure maintenance performed on assigned component is carried out in compliance with company policies and procedures, and Civil Aviation Regulations.   
What you will need to be Successful 
  • Minimum Trade qualifications (Fitter & Turner, Machinist, Mechanical or suitable related disciplines).
  • Hands on experience of manual machines like Saw, Lathe, Milling, Drilling and pneumatic/electrical hand tools essential.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to the instructions. 
  • Ability to use measuring instruments
  • Demonstrate an understanding of aviation regulatory requirements for Aircraft Maintenance. 
  • Knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance & Component repairs is desirable
  • Proven experience in project management of aircraft maintenance of modifications is considered an advantage
  • Experience in a customer focused work environment with multiple priorities and project deadlines. 
  • Computer literate in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and Microsoft Outlook and Excel. 
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and in various weather conditions as well as meeting minimum physical requirements of the job 
  • You may be required to work overtime as required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
