We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Draftsperson and/or engineer to join a budding team and play a crucial role in managing and producing drawings for yacht refit production, recording inventory, and contributing to the design of marine components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting with experience in collaborating with production teams, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for accuracy in both Drawings and Inventory Management, while having an underlying passion for yacht design.
Responsibilities:
- Drawings:
- Collaborate with project managers and technical staff to manage existing design package and translate them into production drawings.
- Create accurate and detailed drawings based on project specifications and requirements.
- Revise and update drawings as necessary to reflect any changes or modifications during the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that drawings adhere to industry standards and regulations.
- Inventory Recording:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory recording system for all materials and products within the yard.
- Regularly update inventory records to reflect incoming and outgoing items, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with warehouse and procurement teams to reconcile physical inventory with recorded data.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, usage, and trends to support decision-making processes.
- Design Support:
- Assist design team and technical staff in creating and modifying drawings for projects, incorporating changes based on feedback and requirements.
- Collaborate with boat builders, engineers, and suppliers to ensure design coherence and accuracy.
- Contribute ideas and insights to enhance the overall design process and efficiency.
Key Attributes:
- Experience in drafting, preferably in the marine industry but not critical.
- Proficiency in Rhinoceros is key - other relevant drafting software will also be considered.
- Strong organizational and management skills critical with a level of autonomy.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Education:
- A degree in drafting, Naval architecture, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
