Marine Lead Technical Support

What you will do

At Volvo Penta you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will Lead Technical Support for Marine service for Volvo Penta Oceania ensuring Volvo Penta brand image and reputation in upheld. 

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Act as the primary contact for Electrical & Electronic Technical Support within the VPO Dealer Network.
• Provide support for Service Market software functionality.
• Monitor and meet Service Market Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Maintain and develop the Dealer and Center network.
• Oversee unit registrations and conduct Service Market audits.
• Assist in training dealer personnel and provide onsite Technical Support.
• Liaise with global Market Units for process implementation.
• Represent VGA at industry functions.
• Support products and customers at exhibitions.

The skills and experiences required for success in the Marine Lead Technical Support role include technical expertise, leadership, strategic planning, effective communication, customer focus, safety consciousness, and industry-specific knowledge.

Volvo Penta headquarters is situated at the Gold Coast and provides comprehensive global service and support through an extensive network of more than 100 dealers across Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji. • Strong technical and mechanical understanding in heavy vehicles and marine engineering.
• Experience in handling electrical and electronic issues in the marine sector.

• Competence in strategic planning and implementing procedures to achieve targets and objectives.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to liaise effectively with global Market Units and represent the company at industry functions.
• Experience in warranty systems and applications, financial management, and budget monitoring.
• Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dealing with customer-related processes.
• Willingness and ability to undertake extensive domestic travel.
• Awareness of environmental policies, ISO9000 standards, and workplace OH&S requirements.
• Trade certificate in the automotive industry or relevant technical/mechanical knowledge would be advantageous.
