Job Opportunity
Join our dynamic Maintenance team in Rozelle as a Marine Mechanic and embark on an exciting journey with us. This role offers competitive compensation starting at $49.60 per hour, a genuinely friendly and accommodating manager and a great working environment.
As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work aboard vessels in breathtaking locations around Australia, Antarctica, and beyond. Beyond the inherent thrill of working in such diverse environments, we offer additional financial incentives to reward your dedication and adventurous spirit.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be able to:
- Use vertical ladders, gangways, floating pontoons.
- Work well in a team or solo. Able to lead and mentor apprentices
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Hold desirable tickets, crane, forklift, MR/HR license
- Self-starter able to identify maintenance opportunities
This role includes:
- Planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to a range of vessels and barges
- Repair and maintenance work to various ships systems.
- Installation and repairs to propulsion machinery, gearboxes and auxiliary engines, pumps, winches, cranes and other systems
- Dockyard slipping works
- General works to vessel and barge hulls and structures
Ideally, you will have the following experience:
- Diesel, Hydraulic, 12/24v DC Electrical
- Computer skills in Word, Excel and familiarity or ability to learn EAM systems
- Confined Space/Working at heights (or ability to obtain)
- MED/Class qualification (preferable but not required)
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role
