Form of workThe business is a leading provider of recreational and commercial marine engine servicing, repair and diagnosis in the greater Perth Area. It operates marine mechanics in the field and in a specialist workshop. Customers can book engine servicing up to six weeks in advance, which requires SPARE PARTS to be on-hand so that jobs can be commenced and completed on time. The Spare Parts Manager’s role is pivotal in organising parts for forward bookings and to also support walk-in, phone and online parts sales.
The Spare Parts Manager's role is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The role requires experience in inventory management in the marine industry and/or knowledge of marine outboards-inboards and boating accessories.
The business specialises in the supply, installation, service and repair of Mercury outboards-inboards, Yanmar diesel engines, Mase Generators and Gori Propellers. Knowledge of Mercury and Yanmar SPARE PARTS would be highly advantageous.
Main responsibilities for the Spare Parts Manager role include:
Ordering parts for scheduled jobs and managing delivery of parts.
Managing stock levels and ordering-restocking parts inventory.
Stock-taking and keeping record of parts stock, sales, stock on order & stock delivered.
Managing walk-in, phone and online parts sales, and maintaining parts stock levels to support sales.
Liaising with SPARE PARTS suppliers and monitoring / expediting parts orders and deliveries.
Managing walk-in and phone customers and pick-pack-dispatch daily parts sales and orders.
Providing friendly service to trade and retail customers; by phone, online and in-person.
Characteristics highly regarded for the position include:
Competent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft 365 (WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK, Sharepoint) and Sybiz or similar accounting and management software (preferred).
Experience interpreting or managing SPARE PARTS, preferably in a marine-boating environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Friendly and courteous personality with a positive, can-do attitude.
Good time management and organisational skills.
C Class Drivers License.
Forklift License (preferred, advantageous).
Ability to interpret parts manuals for marine engines.
Basic mechanical knowledge of marine engines.
Healthy work ethic, good aptitude, attention to detail.
Australian Police Clearance Certificate (preferred).
