Our biodegradable plastics brand Biogone is a rapidly growing name in Australia. It is an exciting and innovating product range that is changing the way plastic can be used.
We believe if single-use plastic must be used then it should be made to be recyclable or to biodegrade where it will be disposed of – in a landfill, commercial or home compost facility.
About the role
We’re looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager to lead and deliver FieldTech and Biogone’s business, Marketing and communication strategies. Working closely with the General Manager and Sales team, you will lead all components of the Marketing and Communications for both business groups. Your role is crucial in maintaining and growing the organisation’s brand awareness and strategies in the plastic and packaging industry for Biogone and contaminated land industry for FieldTech Solutions.
This role is permanent part-time and we are open to a flexible working week. Team culture and collaboration are a very big part of who we are, as we are a small team and we all wear many hats to get the job done. With an office currently in Brooklyn, Victoria, this role will see a minimum of 3 days a week (24hrs) in the office, and the option of partly working from home.
This role is suited to candidates with senior Marketing and Communications experience, with a background in digital Marketing and Communications, trade marketing, with a passion for the environment and sustainability.
About you

- Passionate about the environment and sustainability
- Tertiary qualification in marketing or communications with 5+ years experience
Ideally you should have:
- Experience with SEO/SEM, email marketing, events, design, print, social media, website and advertising
- Experience managing digital agencies, design, and PR consultants
- Strong communication and engagement skills, and can build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Strong analytical and reporting skills to drive business outcomes based on data, research and analysis
Beneficial but not essential
- Experience developing brand capacity in the retail/ supermarkets
- Experience working in the packaging industry
- Knowledge of the packaging industry and state and federal waste targets, and circular economy principles
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Canva, and other design tools/ software
An overview of the role in more detail (broad scope across both brands):
- Working with external agency to develop paid and organic social media activity. Ensuring all social media posts are on brand, unique and engaging, with the goal to attract and connect with our target audience
- Work with agency to manage monthly blog activity, SEO ecommerce and digital marketing strategies
- Work with agency to oversee B2B and B2C email marketing to deliver innovative marketing content, EDMs and workflows which are personalised, targeted and achieve results
- Develop B2B and B2C Marketing and communication strategies
- Responsible for managing marketing strategies, right through to development, implementation, and evaluation
- Responsible for the brands to ensure brand consistency
- Overseeing content curation of engaging content across social media, website, blogs, and newsletters
- Brief PR consultants to develop and execute campaigns
- Develop end of campaign reports to generate insights into our customer lifecycle including key trends, segmentation, performance metrics and recommendations to add value
- Assist and support with trade marketing events
- Manage the marketing budget
