About the Wembley Golf Course
Wembley Golf Course is a public golf facility owned and operated by the Town of Cambridge located 10kms from the CBD and 2 kms from City Beach in Perth, WA. The facility encompasses 36 holes, an 80 Bay two storey (automated) day/night driving range including Trackman Range touchscreens on each bay, 18 hole mini golf course, shortgame and coaching areas, WA’s only PGA Centre of Learning & Performance and one of Australia’s biggest pro shops. With over 185,000 rounds per year and over 800,000 visitors to the facility per year Wembley Golf Course is arguably the busiest golf facility in Australia.
The Role
The Marketing and Events Coordinator plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic vision of Wembley Golf Course, taking charge of all Marketing and communication endeavours while adhering to brand guidelines and the WGC marketing plan. Additionally they plan and monitor all aspects of corporate golf operations to ensure customers receive the highest level of customer service from initial inquiry through to post event follow up. Reporting to the General Manager of Wembley Golf Course, the position exercises autonomy in directing Golf Shop staff, contracted teaching professionals, and other contractors, guiding them in WGC branding, promotional strategies, and Point of Sale procedures for corporate golf products and Events. Maintaining strong connections with the Wembley Golf Course hospitality contractor, corporate sponsors, event attendees, and WGC patrons is also integral to this role.
Selection Criteria
- Sound knowledge of current media, communication issues and trends and a proven ability to use that knowledge to improve communication outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to craft, deliver and evaluate strategic Marketing and communication programs to support business goals
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including researching, writing, editing, proof-reading and presentation skill for a range of initiatives and audiences
- Previous experience in coordinating events/conference/functions.
- Proven ability to provide a high-quality of customer service within defined budget, organisation policy and protocol requirements.
- High-level communication skills in order to provide clear and calm instructions and to negotiate to resolve problems that may arise.
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Previous experience in golf operations, corporate golf management, or sales and marketing.
- Previous experience in Local Government operations is desirable and relevant Tertiary or PGA Qualifications are looked upon favourably
