Job description

Lady Musgrave Experience is seeking experienced Master IV and MED 1 Masters and Engineers or higher qualification, for an award winning daily reef tour. Full-time and casual positions are available.
MASTER 35m (IV):
This role is central to ensuring our guests experience the very highest levels of service and safety whilst on board our tours. The successful candidate will possess a passion for delivering high quality guest experiences and expect the same of their crew. Previous experience in supervising large groups with the ability to engage, motivate and direct both staff, and our guests is essential. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are critical to this role. The successful candidate will have demonstrated organisational and leadership skills with a commitment and adherence to safety and operational procedures.
As a Master within this company you will:
Strive to excel in delivering a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests.
Ensure the safety of passengers and crew by implementing vessel safety procedures, monitoring and addressing crew and passengers' adherence to vessel safety procedures, conducting regular safety drills, ensuring thorough induction and training of all employees, and implementing emergency procedures as required.
Possess exceptional boat handling skills, including close quarters
Acknowledge and accept the ultimate responsibility for all safety aspects of any vessel in your charge or management
Ensure your vessel (s) is maintained in clean, seaworthy and mechanically sound state and instruct staff in the adherence to this standard
Be responsible for all property, including vessels and any equipment.
Have a disciplined and strong work ethic and take pride as a professional Master always looking for ways to improve.
Be a confident communicator able to provide informative and engaging commentary to guests whilst on tour.
Confidently communicate with crew and with company Directors
Ferry, Reef or any form of tour experience will be an advantage but is not essential
You will be a team player who will bring to the role:
Master Class IV 35m (AMSA) Certificate
Med 1 / Med 2 would be beneficial although not necessary
Proven experience as Master on similar vessels
Preferred dive experience but not essential
Current First Aid, Oxygen therapy, CPR Certificates, marine radio license and Qld Blue Card are essential.
Previous experience working on passenger vessels and a thorough understanding of Vessel Safety Operations and Marine Safety
Current Driver's License.
Exceptional management skills including initiative and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Broad knowledge of the marine environment, particularly coral reef systems
An interactive yet safe experience
A positive “can do” attitude
Exceptional boat handling skills and an eye for detail
Pride in their work and position
Experience on high speed vessels
Experience navigating in reef lagoon environments
Experience at close quarters docking
MARINE ENGINEER:
In this role you will be central to ensuring our vessels are maintained to the highest standard. You will posses excellent customer service and communication skills, be a confident and experienced Engineer. Previous experience in maintaining all systems on high speed passenger vessel. Your attention to detail will be key in this role with a focus on preventative/scheduled maintenance.
As Marine Engineer within this company you will:
Strive to excel in delivering a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests.
Ensure the safety of passengers and crew by implementing all required safety checks, scheduled maintenance and safe vessel operations.
Possess exceptional marine engine knowledge
Ensuring your vessel (s) is maintained in clean, seaworthy and mechanically sound state
Be responsible for all property, including vessels and any equipment.
Have a disciplined and strong work ethic and take pride as a professional always looking for ways to improve.
Be a confident communicator able to provide informative and engaging commentary to guests whilst on tour.
You will be a team player who will bring to the role:
MED1 (AMSA) Certificate or higher
Proven experience as engineer on similar vessels
Preferred dive experience
Current First Aid, Oxygen therapy & CPR Certificates
Previous experience working on passenger vessels and a thorough understanding of Vessel Safety Operations and Marine Safety
Current Driver's License.
