Damen Australia is primarily concerned with aftersales support of vessels designed and/or built by Damen group. The Brisbane office is designated as a ‘Damen Service Hub’ and falls under responsibility of the group division ‘Damen Services’. The Brisbane Service Hub looks after all aftersales activities in the Oceania region which includes a wide variety of vessel types.
About the Role
As a result of the company's continued growth and commitment to customer service, an excellent opportunity has been created for a PROJECT ENGINEER to join our team in Brisbane. Desired applicants will have a qualification in mechanical or marine engineering and an enthusiastic attitude towards working as team or independently. We are seeking a person who is self-motivated, driven and committed to taking on the challenges to ensure effective project administration and customer support. The role will require the candidate to participate in the support of engineering services provided to ship owners throughout the vessels lifecycle.
This position requires that the successful applicant has the following:
• Strong technical knowledge of marine systems and ship building practices
• Proven experience in a similar role – Minimum requirement 5 years and academic qualifications in the engineering field
• Excellent communication skills and ability to prepare accurate reports
• High degree of competence in Project Management, Planning and Execution
• Positive and proactive approach to problem solving
• Willingness to travel (internationally and domestically) plus work in the field
