The opportunity
Reporting into the Technology PMO, a new role has become available due to team expansion for a fixed term of 12 months with a good chance of extension or permanency. Working across up to 19 different technology focused projects, you will oversee, consolidate, and report on project schedules and resources to ensure interdependencies and risks are identified and well managed.
Closely partnering with Project and Program Managers, you will provide a consistent approach to project scheduling, ensure milestones are achieved as scheduled and assist when delivery dates don't align. This role can be performed on a full-time basis or over four days for someone exceptional and you'll join a team who work in the office twice weekly.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a master schedule (using PowerBI and MS Project) of technology projects and other key transformation initiatives at project, program, and portfolio levels, some of which span several years.
- Guide Project and Program Managers in building robust project schedules and identify resource needs and skillsets aligned to schedules.
- Proactively review and spot anomalies with the allocation of resources and communicate risks promptly.
- Develop and maintain suitable PowerBI dashboards to accommodate the multilayer views of schedule, timelines, dependencies, and resource capacity needs.
- Uplift schedule standards and dependency management practices by updating the framework and ensuring it's used effectively.
- Support to the PMO in the facilitation of ad hoc activities such as stage gate reviews, risk consolidation, PowerPoint packs and Government reporting.
Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in multi-project and program scheduling with proven success of implementing and operationalising master schedules and interdependencies using MS Project, Excel and PowerBI.
- A good understanding of waterfall (PMBOK) and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Past experience working with PMO and governance frameworks where you've had to escalate change requests due to variations in the baseline schedules.
- Proven milestone management and resource ability reporting using PowerBI.
- A history of and passion for working with technology projects.
- Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills where you effectively interact with all levels of management, sponsors, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality schedules are delivered every time.
