Maternity Services Unit Manager

Permanent Part OR Full Time - 64 - 80 hours per fortnight

Classification: Midwife Unit Manager Level 2

Award: Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024

A fantastic opportunity exists for a leader to join the Maternity Services Team at Maryborough District Health Service as the Maternity Services Unit Manager. As the Unit Manager you will lead a dynamic team of midwives assisting them in delivering a new and exciting model of care. This role is responsible for providing customer-oriented clinical, operational and management leadership to all Maternity Services.

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Registration as a midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum of three years' experience in midwifery nursing inclusive of delivery of all aspects of peri natal care.
  • Three years leadership experience
  • Works effectively and cooperatively with others; establishing and maintaining good working relationships

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Registration as a midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Technical/Professional Knowledge and skills

  • Minimum of three years' experience in midwifery nursing inclusive of delivery of all aspects of peri natal care.
  • Post graduate qualification or working towards same.
  • Three years leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in departmental financial budgeting and the ability to utilize information technology to enhance practice
  • Working knowledge of national standards, regulations and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence and patient experience

Collaboration: Works effectively and cooperatively with all stakeholders; establish and maintain good working relationships consistent with MDHS values of GREAT
