About the College

Marist College Eastwood has seen an increase in enrolment in the last five years. With an increased cohort, a broader subject selection and therefore the creation of more teaching and learning roles, the College is preparing for an innovative future.

Through collaborative work and community consultation the Marist College Eastwood Strategic Implementation Plan was developed. We seek people to join and embrace our particular Catholic Marist Community, one which is eager to display the strong traditional and reliable attributes and tenants in boys’ education, as well as embracing exciting facilitation and learning in state of the art curriculum and pedagogical delivery. With a deliberate focus on student achievement, teaching and learning methodology, school wellbeing, faith development and school resourcing programs, we aspire to attract candidates who will help bring about for our students A Daring Faith and Dynamic Education Developing Strong Minds and Gentle Hearts.

Key Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will be a highly effective teacher who demonstrates the following:

  • Commitment to the Catholic Church and a strong sense of faith.
  • Have a capacity to enliven the values of truth, empathy, excellence, curiosity and collaboration in students with regard to the Mission and Vision of Sydney Catholic Schools.
  • Qualified to teach Mathematics.
  • Be able to demonstrate differentiated pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrated understanding of effective classroom management techniques to promote a supportive and positive learning environment.
  • Capacity to plan and deliver engaging lessons that integrate evidence-based practices to maximise learning outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Be willing to undertake continued professional development and faith formation.
  • Support the College’s scholastic initiatives and promote its innovation in light of the Strategic Plan.
  • Be prepared to undertake leadership mentoring and training from peers and develop and demonstrate strong professional relationships with colleagues.

The successful applicant will be required to hold and maintain a valid Working With Children Check from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.

The application letter will need to reflect the key selection criteria for the position. All teachers at Marist College Eastwood are expected to demonstrate high order ICT skills, and a willingness for further skill development, for teaching and administration purposes.
