The Role:
- Work collaboratively, cross functionally and with customers, to 3D model our range of heavy-duty transport equipment, adapting them for each individual customer. This will involve:
- Interpreting and translating sales order specifications into 3D models.
- Work collaboratively with the responsible Design Engineer to ensure that all the technical aspects of builds are met.
- Work collaboratively with the responsible sales engineer to ensure that clients’ technical expectations of builds are addressed.
- Compile and manage Bills of Materials.
- Excellent communication skills: teamwork requires efficient and effective information flow.
- Problem solving skills: use critical thinking to solve the problem and collaborative communication to implement solutions.
- Innovative thinking: Creative solutions, modern processes, new ideas for making things better.
- Experience adhering to and maintaining modelling and engineering design standards Understanding the Australian Design rules relating to TD vehicles would be an advantage.
- High proficiency in CAD 3D modelling and engineering drawing creation.
- Exposure to traditional and new manufacturing processes
- Advanced Autodesk Inventor and/or Solidworks, Autocad and Autodesk Vault skills.
- Drafting for manufacture experience, including BoM compilation and management.
- At a minimum, an intermediate level of experience managing large modelling assemblies (ideally in heavy steel fabrication environment).
- Thorough understanding of the function of ERP software and its application in manufacturing.
- 9 day Fortnight, so every 2nd Friday is off.
- Flexibility with start/finish working hours to help fir around your work/life balance.
- Also, most Engineers have the option to work from home 1 day a week.
