We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Air Service Projects Team.
Fredon is searching for a Mechanical Engineer to be responsible for the development of design documentation to ensure that project deliverables and design outcomes are achieved and on time. This role will also be responsible for maintaining and developing long term relationships at all levels within the organisation and with prospective clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design of HVAC systems including heat loads, duct sizing, pipe sizing, equipment selections
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant codes and standards including NCC and Australian standards
- Review drawings and specifications and assist draftsman to produce fully detailed workshop drawings
- Preparation of commissioning management plan and assisting project manager during the commissioning phase of the projects
- Attend design and coordination meetings and collaborate with all stakeholders
- Attend sites on a regular basis to carry out inspections and produce reports for internal review and actions.
- Consult with engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
- Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
- Aid project team members as necessary.
- Assess subcontractor, and supplier submissions in relation to technical compliance with building codes, standards and project requirements.
- Utilise knowledge of Mechanical Engineering to effectively deliver profitable completion of projects, which meet contractual and customer quality and delivery expectations.
- Ensure compliance and leadership in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and procedures at all times.
- Engineering Change Management (Variations, etc)
- Engineering Quality Management including the development of QA documentation (Quality planning, Quality Assurance, Quality Control).
- Implementation of risk management on the project(s) in relation to technical, and engineering matters including the development of Risk Management Plans, Risk Analysis, Risk Response Plan, Risk Monitoring and Control).
- Accountable for technical project deliverables and their compliance to specifications/contract requirements
Successful Candidate Will Have:
- 5 plus years experience and a strong track record in project engineering and management and delivery of Mechanical Services engineering on large-scale commercial projects.
- Diploma or degree in Engineering.
- Experience working on specialised Mechanical Services projects.
- Hands on experience in Mechanical Services design, shop drawing development, design verification, engineering change management, document control and testing and commissioning processes.
- Comprehensive experience and strong track record in delivering innovation.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with high levels of motivation and the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
- Strong focus to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage, and prioritise multiple activities/ project deliverables
- Strong understanding of Australian Building Codes and Australian Standards in relation to Mechanical Services.
- A high level of Microsoft Office experience, including MS Projects
- Strong time management skills
