The opportunity
Designed to world-class standards and adopting sustainability objectives in all parts of its operations, our Pulp and Paper mill in Tumut produces high-quality Kraft Paper for both domestic and international markets – it is where the magic begins!
Reporting to the Mechanical Reliability Manager, you will be responsible for the reliability of recovery boilers, power boiler, boiler ancillary equipment, and an advanced evaporation plant. You will also ensure the optimisation of installed equipment to improve plant reliability and life cycle, by implementing best practices that achieve the strategic goals in the Mechanical Engineering disciplines.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Lead and participate in the design, maintenance, and improvement of Chemical Recovery systems and boilers.
Develop long term capital plans to ensure ongoing plant performance including full life cycle project management.
Manage the auditing of installed equipment to ensure that all spare parts, documentation, procedures, and maintenance schedules required are in place and up to date.
Analyse data and troubleshoot complex systems to develop short to medium term plans and solutions to optimise paper production and ensure competitiveness in the market.
Review production performance against targets and address any engineering and/or reliability factors that adversely impacts production.
Ensure compliance for all statutory inspections on all pressure vessels / piping and safety valves, and ensure records are updated.
Adhere to safe working practices in accordance with the policies and procedures at all times.
What you will bring to the team:
Tertiary qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
Solid prior experience in the maintenance of boilers (ideally in Chemical Recovery boilers) in an industrial environment.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with all stakeholders.
In-depth knowledge of maintenance processes, preventive maintenance techniques, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Tech savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office, and Asset Management Systems (AMS).
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can demonstrate your mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex production issues under pressure.
