Job Opportunity: Mechanical Engineer
We seek a Mechanical Engineer to join our client's rapidly expanding engineering team. As a valued member, you will be entrusted with your portfolio of projects, each carrying significant responsibility.
Role Overview:
- Challenging and Diverse: You’ll tackle intricate engineering problems, drawing upon fundamental principles to design complex machinery for demanding environments.
- Global Impact: This role involves occasional travel to client sites, providing you with firsthand exposure to diverse projects and cultures.
- Career Advancement: Successful performance can lead to progression as a Senior Mechanical Engineer or a Product Specialist.
- Project Management: Skillfully oversee your portfolio of ongoing and upcoming projects, from initial proposal sketches to on-site commissioning.
- Design Optimisation: Employ your expertise to develop, refine, and validate designs according to relevant standards, utilising calculations and finite element analysis (FEA).
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Design team to create innovative solutions that align with industry standards, project schedules, and efficient manufacturing techniques.
- Document Control: Manage critical documents and information flow between clients and project teams, ensuring seamless communication.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Interact with clients, sales, management, engineering, design, controls and automation, estimating, aftermarket, procurement, vendors, quality, and workshop personnel as needed.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to enhancing processes and procedures within the Engineering and Design departments.
- Education: Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Mechanics.
- Analytical Skills: Exhibit effortless problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis.
- Decision-Making: Be adept at making and defending decisions, even when faced with limited information.
- Willingness to Travel: A desire to travel to client sites is essential.
- Interpersonal Strengths: Possess strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Experience: Ideally, you have 5+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role, preferably within an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specialising in heavy engineering and/or wet plant projects.
