Mechanical Engineer, Transport And Main Roads

In the role of Mechanical Engineer, under Registered Professional Engineer of Qld (RPEQ) supervision, you will provide engineering input for the RoadTek Fleet Fleet Management unit that consists of managing 1300 Fleet assets spread across 9 operations units across Queensland. The Fleet Management Unit is accountable to: Provide and Maintain a core fleet to satisfy operational unit requirements to facilitate the delivery of transport infrastructure maintenance, works and services across Queensland. Provide timely and accurate equipment advice to assist operational units respond to TMR disaster and emergency management. Ensure RoadTek fleet assets are managed in a sustainable manner while providing levels of service and meeting operational objectives. Some of your responsibilities will include: Assist with procurement of Fleet asset and assist in technical specifications and with the commissioning of new equipment purchased by the department. Develop and review operator and services checklist and risk assessments for new equipment. Provide engineering and technical support and assist in the management of quality and safety compliance. Conduct market analysis and produce reports and information to the Manager (Fleet). Mandatory qualifications and conditions A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent Mechanical Engineering qualification which is acceptable for Corporate Membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia. Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. Desirable qualifications and conditions Experience and/or exposure in the Mechanical field will be highly regarded.
