Element 25 (E25) is developing a vertically integrated manganese business, with the expansion of Butcherbird Manganese mine scheduled to commence and an USA based High Purity Manganese Sulphate Monohydrate (HPMSM) Processing facility in detailed design and engineering.
In building the refinery, E25 is commercialising an innovative technology to convert manganese ore into HPMSM, a critical raw material for electric vehicle batteries and is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our battery grade HPMSM engineering design team based in Perth, Western Australia.

Reporting to the Vice President of Battery Materials, you will have the opportunity to advance your knowledge and develop skills in an exciting and vital project from feasibility through to construction, commissioning, and operation.
To be successful in this position, your experience should include the following:
- Australian recognised Bachelors’ degree qualification in a relevant Mechanical Engineering
- Member of Engineers Australia Preferred but not essential.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, preferably in the design and construction of chemical processing facilities.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems used in chemical processing, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
- Experience with project management principles and practices, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing Mechanical Engineering in chemical processing facilities.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
This position is a Permanent Perth based position, with international travel to the United States of America required as part of the role.
