The opportunity:
We are a global leader in recycled PET (rPET) and recycled HDPE (rHDPE) production and packaging. We take 92,000 tonnes of plastics each year and make approximately two billion plastic containers and preforms.
Our unmatched scale and capability with proven expertise and state-of-the-art facilities guarantees supply. Our nine plastic manufacturing sites includes Australia's first and largest food-grade recycled plastics facility in Smithfield, New South Wales. Our expertise and infrastructure has allowed us to manufacture 100% rPET bottles and Australia's first 50% recycled plastic milk bottle.
The person we are looking for will hold a Certificate III Mechanical Trade certificate or equivalent and will be part of our reliability team, supporting production of a 24/7 Plant, based on “dayshift” working 8 hours per day.
Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Preventative and reactive/breakdown maintenance.
- Experience working within FMG and Waste management environment
- Experience with fabrication
- Adhering to all quality, WH&S and environment policies and procedures.
- Data driven decision making.
- General technical support to the manufacturing site.
- New and old machinery installation work.
- Daily maintenance, fault finding, troubleshooting, and machine repair.
- Enter and manage maintenance notifications in SAP.
What you will bring to the team:
- You will hold a Mechanical Trade certificate and post trade qualifications in hydraulics and pneumatics would be desirable.
- Significant experience in an industrial environment, preferably in manufacturing with a background in fault finding.
- Forklift licence, EWP licence, rigging ticket an advantage.
- Able to work autonomously and adhere to deadlines, while also demonstrating excellent teamwork skills.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks with varying levels of priority to minimise downtime.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and a safety mindset.
