Form of workOne of the largest international Oil and Gas operators are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineerto join their team in Melbourne on a long term, ongoing contract basis. This role specifically is targeted at those with a mechanical skill set with a construction/installation background. The work assignment will be focused on maintenance of platforms what are no longer producing, looking at the planned maintenance activities and identifying cost reduction opportunities, along with a problem solving mindsight to 'right size' the current work activities on these assets. In addition, there is general engineering technical support required as the facilities work through the process of destaffing, and getting ready for ultimate removal.
To be successful you must possess a minimum of 5 years relevant experience backed by a degree in Mechanical Engineering, stand-out technical knowledge in relation to mechanical concepts, management of subcontractors and designers in a site based environment as well as experience in negotiating with major stakeholders. Strong verbal and communication skills and the ability to work in a high pressure environment is also a must.
