Reporting to the Major Project Office (PMO) Project Services Manager, we are seeking a Project Controls Engineer with extensive Planning and Scheduling experience in Melbourne to provide support to ongoing and new projects Nationally.
This is a permanent role.
About the role:
- Provide Planning and master schedules to a number of exciting capital projects across the organisation.
- Lead cost and schedule project control techniques including scheduling, earned value reporting, risk management techniques and cost breakdowns and controls in line with project requirements.
- Apply risk management techniques including qualitative risk register development, quantitative risk based contingency development and contingency management.
- Collaborate with the Major Projects Project Services Manager to deliver resource management frameworks, processes, procedures and tools.
- Support the development of the Project Management Office.
- Manage Project Controls, including driving effective and efficient communication between project teams, contractors and suppliers and other external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables.
- Drive project compliance and governance standards for best practise requirements.
- Manage project lifecycles working with management and other members of the project team to maintain and achieve budgets within a tight timeframe.
- Recommending cost control improvements to processes through utilisation of best practice experience, ensuring compliance.
- Establish and leverage cross-discipline relationships within the wider business group to facilitate cost control.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience as a scheduler/planner supporting a PMO with a focus on progress measurement, earned value analyses and reporting.
- Proven ability to scope and prioritise National multiple projects ranging from $300k - $50 million budgets.
- Experience with gated and milestone projects, variations, costs and managing risk including developing contingency allowances and contingency management, schedule management, framework standards, processes and tools
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels of our organisation
- Technical ability in MS Project, Primavera P6, Excel and SharePoint essential.
- Demonstrated experience in other Project Controls software highly desirable i.e. AtRisk, Acumen Fuse, Power BI, Powerpoint, SharePoint.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Accounting or related construction discipline or considerable experience.
