Maintenance Mechanical Engineers - Brownfields Mineral Processing, Iron ore

$100 - $120 PH + Super - Paid 12 hrs per day
***Only Australian Citizens and Permanent residents will be considered for this role. The position is only for candidates that reside in Perth WA
- Filtration Plant - Dewatering Filters, Screens, Pumps, Tanks, Piping
- Wet Plant - Magnetic separator, Mills, conveyors, drums, rollers
- Dry Plant - chutes, bin liners, hoppers, and tanks
As a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance and commissioning activities related to Brownfields iron ore projects.
The job:
- Root cause analysis investigations on chronic and catastrophic failures, implementing corrective actions
- Asset reliability on a range of equipment, including Crushers, Conveyors, Sizers, Chutes, Scrubbers, Ball Mills, Slurry and water pumps, Pipes, Fans, Screens, Stackers, Reclaimers, Dredges, Hydraulic circuits, Blowers, Agitators, Thickeners, Apron feeders, Dewatering screens, and Gearboxes
About our client and role:
Our client is a global owner operator within the heavy mineral processing / mining sector. In Australia, they own and operate two brownfield gold mines. This specific site has another 12 years of gold and copper production and in March 2011 the mine produced its first 1 million ounces of gold.
- Proficient in working with an iron ore processing plant as a qualified maintenance mechanical engineer.
- Analyse equipment and process performance to evaluate reliability, maintainability, and availability.
- Conduct detailed engineering calculations and analyse data for insights and improvements.
- Utilise statistical analysis tools to analyse failure data and identify trends.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to enhance equipment reliability.
- Lead problem-solving teams in identifying, designing, and implementing improvement initiatives.
- Provide engineered solutions for complex equipment problems.
- Identify value creation opportunities and prioritize mechanical improvement projects.
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to communicate the value of improvement projects.
- Provide prompt and effective support in resolving mechanical engineering issues in operating equipment.
- Offer technical support to the wider Maintenance team in various mechanical engineering aspects.
- Review preventative and predictive maintenance systems and suggest enhancements for improved equipment performance.

Skills and requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering - Australian recognised only
- Proven experience with FEA, reliability, and predictive engineering would be highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working in the mining industry at fixed plant iron ore, Gold, or Copper sites
- Experience with brownfield projects or commissioning minerals processing facilities
- Familiarity with root cause analysis work process methods and tools.
- Practical statistical analysis skills, including failure statistics, failure rates, hazard rates, and life expectancy
- National Police Clearance
- Permanent work rights in Australia are essential
