We maintain, service, repair and install all types of Pump systems, Sewer Pump Stations, Housing Estate Water Supply Pumpset, Building Services, Electrical Control Systems, Mechanical Ventilation Systems and some Fire Services.

Role Description

This is a full-time role (immediate start) for a Mechanical Services / Pump Technician in Gold Coast, QLD. The successful candidate will maintain, install, and repair mechanical systems, pump systems and electrical controls. They will also be responsible for troubleshoot electrical control problems, mechanical issues and related issues with all types of hydraulic pump systems and water supply stations. The successful candidate will be teamed up with other trained and fully qualified technicians to learn and develop work processes with on-the-job training until deemed competent to work by themselves.

The successful candidate will need to show confidence as our technicians deal directly with the client and will be required to do some remote work, be available for on-call rosters and work outside regular business hours and overtime.

We supply a fully stocked Toyota Workmate with a canopy, which we must be housed at their residence (not on the road or in public carparks). The vehicle is fully stocked with a complete set of specialist tools (except essential hand tools). An iPhone will also be supplied. Normal business hours are Monday-Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm. One RDO per month is included in the package with the standard four weeks holidays per year and sick leave entitlements.

The successful candidate must be eligible to take annual blood and alcohol tests, have a Blue Card for working at schools and nursing homes, and an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)for working at the Gold Coast Airport and Government Buildings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience would be helpful as a Mechanical Services / Pump Technician or similar role
• Trade qualifications, a fully qualified electrician or a restricted electrical license, would be preferred but not required at this time.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems and pumps
• Knowledge of hydraulic pump systems or the want to learn.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers
• Proficient in the use of tools and equipment associated with the role
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• A current driver's license is a must.

Other competency licenses such as Confined Space, Working at Heights, and EWP will be provided to the successful candidate. This may be offered later if the successful candidate has no restricted electrical license.

The salary on offer is based on the applicant's experience and qualifications. This could vary depending on the applicant's trade experience.
