Mechanical Superintendent - Power & Recovery

Discover Opal….We manufacture goods that you see, touch, and use every day and our customer base includes some of the biggest names in FMCG, Retail and Fresh Produce.We stand for innovation, smart solutions, and sustainability!Discover the Opportunity....We are currently seeking a Mechanical Superintendent for Power, Recovery and Wastewater at our Maryvale Paper Mill in Morwell, VIC.The main purpose of this role is to manage all mechanical trades maintenance and tasks across these areas. The main focus of this team is to provide maintenance for gas fired boilers, recovery boilers, pressure vessels, tanks and our wastewater filtration pumps.Key Elements of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Leading your team to complete maintenance tasks
• Providing relevant technical knowledge and expertise to support your areas of responsibility to ensure mechanical statutory compliance, while supporting reliability improvement and cost reduction initiatives
• Promoting the usage of CMMS system in all maintenance tasks, both production and maintenance
• Being accountable for the identification, planning, scheduling, execution, & closing out of work in your area (both in the field & in the CMMS)

• A mechanical trades background, with ideally some previous boiler experience
• Experience working within a unionised environment in manufacturing or heavy industry
• Well developed leadership and supervisory skills
• Ability to be agile and adaptable and respond quickly and effectively to changing priorities
