About the role
Join our dynamic team in Geraldton, Western Australia, as we seek an experienced Mechanical Supervisor for an exciting on-site role. Embracing a family-friendly, 2:1 roster, this position offers a full-time employment contract.
Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the chosen candidate will oversee on-site operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficient labor management.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure precise and timely recording of workforce hours and progress.
- Strategize and coordinate work plans to meet deadlines and optimize workforce efficiency and productivity.
- Lead pre-shift and post-shift meetings to align team objectives and foster effective communication.
- Proactively arrange crane logistics, collaborating with company representatives to secure necessary equipment and operators for material lifting needs.
- Coordinate with Altrad Services' Scaffold Supervisor to deploy Advanced Riggers and Dogmen essential for safe and efficient lifting operations.
- Closely monitor project progress, offering insights on potential issues affecting schedules, budgets, or overall project performance.
- Conduct comprehensive safety audits, including Critical Incident Checklists (CIC), Permit to Work (PTW) Audits, and Safety Observations, ensuring compliance with internal and external safety benchmarks.
About you
- Proven track record in site-based roles within the energy, mining, and/or construction sectors, with at least 5 years' experience in these industries.
- Previous expertise and/or certification in fitting and boiler-making applications is advantageous.
- Certification as a Cert 10 Welding Supervisor - AS1796 is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong written communication skills, capable of drafting comprehensive work reports and job instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders involved in operations.
- Flexibility to engage in a variety of tasks, both on-site and off-site, as needed.
