About The Role
As Australia’s fifth-largest iron ore producer, MinRes operates three key mining hubs in Western Australia. This portfolio includes the transformative Onslow Iron project, one of the largest iron ore developments in Australia, and is forecast to ship around 35 million tonnes of ore per year.
Reporting to the Port Operations Superintendent, and working on an 8:6 roster, you will maximise equipment reliability at the Port of Ashburton to ensure the safe and effective operation of mechanical systems.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Making sure mechanical personnel are adequately trained, supervised, and given clear instructions for all maintenance tasks.
- Ensuring compliance with all statutory, legislative, and workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements, including installations, inspections, reporting, and record-keeping.
- Coordinating and reviewing job safety analyses (JSA) and other relevant risk assessments, ensuring they are signed off at the job front.
- Regularly inspecting and auditing the workplace through occupational health and maintenance (OHM) inspections.
- Investigating and reporting any accidents, incidents, or loss of assets that may occur in the workplace.
- Developing and empowering your team, including managing performance reviews and creating training development plans.
What You Will Bring to The Team
You will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance, including previous team leadership experience as a supervisor. Your expertise will ideally include exposure to port facilities and / or mineral processing plants.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
- Current trade certificate in a mechanical discipline,
- Senior First Aid accreditation,
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence,
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor certificate (or Section 44),
- Whilst not essential, previous commissioning or fault-finding experience would be beneficial.
