Who we’re looking for
We are looking for an experienced UG Mechanical Technician to maintain and repair our mining equipment at Ridgeway. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. You will be responsible for assisting with preventative and breakdown maintenance of all Fixed Plant equipment, including in general plant maintenance, shutdowns, fault-finding, and project work.
Key deliverables of this role include, but not limited to:
- Performing, operating and maintenance activities on crushers, conveyor systems, dewatering systems, ventilation systems, pumps and more.
- Monitoring and reporting on status of equipment
- Assist with shutdown, co-ordination, and execution
- Promote and maintain a culture of ‘safe production’ by compliance with company safety systems, policies, procedures and accountabilities. I.e. FCCCs, JSEA, Prestart inspections, hazcards and audits.
- Ensure all incidents, near miss and hazards are reported to Shift Supervisor.
About You
We are looking for a safety focused individual who has:
- A current trade qualification as either a Fitter, Fitter and Machinist or Welder
- Experience as a Fitter in Fixed Plant or underground mining is desirable
- Experience on various types of crushers, conveyor systems, dewatering systems, ventilation systems, pumps and more
- The ability to identify major hazards within assigned tasks and implement the correct critical controls prior to starting any work
- Current Manual C Class Driver’s Licence
- Basic computer skills and experience with SAP or similar system would be advantageous
