Media and Communications Advisor

About the role:The Media and Communications Advisor is responsible for raising the profile of MacKillop among key organisational stakeholders, with a particular focus on stakeholders in New South Wales and ACT.The Advisor will identify proactive media opportunities to tell the story of our work by monitoring daily Media and building relationships with journalists and producers. They will also work with internal stakeholders to provide strategic communications advice to support program staff to achieve key program deliverables, in particular with recruitment and retention of foster carers.

The Media and Communications Advisor will implement and coordinate the Ambassador strategy by identifying and building strategic partnerships with ambassadors who will help raise the profile of the organisation. Primary objectives:Raise the profile of MacKillop Family Services and the outcomes of our work among key stakeholders

Provide and implement strategic communications advice to drive foster care recruitment in NSWSupport the broader Communications team to implement marketing tactics, write and share stories, write publications, and develop marketing material. We have a Full-Time opportunity based in Blacktown, NSW within our? Community Engagement program available.

The position reports to the Media and Communications Team LeadKey Selection Criteria:To be successful in this role, you will have:Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or related discipline is highly preferred, with 5-7 years’ experience in a similar position. Exceptional writing skills and an ability to write for different audiences across a range of mediums eg. media releases, fact sheets, Q&As, newsletters, websites, advertising, and promotional materials.

Proven comprehensive knowledge of and experience working with the media across various platforms: editorial and advertising; print, radio, TV, online; national, metropolitan, suburban regional.   For a full position listing, please click APPLY.
