The Opportunity:

Due to an exciting expansion in our drug development pipeline, we are seeking a Medical Manager to support the evolving Oncology Solid Tumour portfolio in the treatment of Breast Cancer. This role is a fantastic opportunity to join a small but growing Medical Affairs team, where you will work collaboratively with local, regional, and global cross-functional teams to build and execute robust pre- and post-launch Medical plans. You must have experience in the breast cancer landscape for this role. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of Medical Affairs Plans for Oncology Solid Tumour brands.
  • Establish and maintain a network of professional relationships with external KOLs and key stakeholders critical for executing Medical Affairs plans.
  • You will spend a large amount of time in the field, and will be expected to travel nationally to support KOL development.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Oncology Solid Tumour portfolio. Represent the company at scientific conferences and train relevant stakeholders on up-to-date disease and product knowledge.
  • Provide therapeutic area and clinical expertise to expand their scientific leadership with both internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory/market access support as needed.
  • Collaborate with pathologists and other stakeholders to assist in setting up companion Oncology diagnostic testing operations.
  • Review promotional and educational materials to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry codes.
  • Manage supportive activities for expanded access programs and clinical trials if required.
  • Offer medical advice and support to the Pharmacovigilance and Medical Information teams.
  • Support the project management of investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and communicate progress to regional and global teams.
  • Provide flexible support and medical expertise to other areas of the  business as needed.
About You:
  • Pharmacist, MD, PhD, or another relevant advanced qualification in healthcare-related science.
  • Several years’ experience working within a Medical Affairs team as an MSL, Senior MSL or Medical Advisor within the Australian Healthcare Industry.
  • Experience in breast cancer is essential.
  • Previous experience conducting Advisory Boards and working with patient advocacy groups.
  • Solid understanding of the Medical Affairs function, clinical research principles, and Medicines Australia Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to interpret, distill, and communicate complex medical and technical information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of hospital ecosystems and medical research principles.
  • Proven track record of establishing and maintaining relationships with senior healthcare professionals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • An agile and innovative mindset.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing business priorities.
  • Willingness to travel for a national role.
  • High level of self-motivation with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
