AddressWe are seeking a Practice Manager/Senior Medical Receptionist for a busy Specialist Practice in Deakin.
The position will involve the running of the practice, business and management of staff. Experience as a Medical Receptionist is essential.
The day-to-day duties are varied and include
- managing staff
- answering phones,
- greeting patients,
- invoicing patients and taking payment, Preparing and explaining surgical quotes
- making appointments, Manging the doctor's diary,
- preparing patient surgical invoices,
- tidying and maintaining the rooms,
- cleaning and sterilisation of medical equipment,
- ordering of medical stock and office supplies,
- medical typing,
- delivering patient results,
- debt recovery,
- solving Medicare/Eclipse Billing issues,
- Booking surgical procedures, liaising with anaesthetists, assisting surgeons and hospital lists to ensure appropriate coverage,
- Liaising with other medical facilities or providers on behalf of the doctors,
- Liaising with suppliers and other service business,
- Ensuring the practice facilities are maintained
- Other duties as directed.
Experience with Medicare and health fund billing would be essential. Experience with Gentu practice software, while not necessary, would be desirable. Training will be provided.
The successful applicant/s will:
- be experienced in the Management of a Medical Practice.
- be reliable,
- be able to handle difficult situations and dealing with doctors and patients,
- be able to work autonomously and complete tasks independently as the successful applicant may be working solo at times,
- be able to work flexible hours dependant on the doctors' schedules,
- be a person who understands the confidential nature of the position,
- have an understanding of and maintain the privacy of patients at all times,
- have excellent communication skills.
This position is an officed based position. Free parking is available in the area.
Renumeration will be offered commensurate with experience and skill set. The rooms close over the Christmas/ New Year period, generally 2 weeks leave will be required for this period.
