About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our healthcare team as a Medical Administration Receptionist. This is a permanent part-time position for 3 days per week with the flexibility to cover holiday leave. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding communication abilities, a comprehensive grasp of medical terminology, and a dedicated approach to providing exemplary patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process telephone calls, emails and faxes from patients and medical practitioners
- Meet and greet patients attending appointments
- Book hospital procedural appointments for physicians when needed
- Process patient medical accounts including Medicare claims
- Manage incoming results and referrer requests (via phone and email) and triage accordingly
- Maintaining a tidy office, waiting room, consulting rooms and kitchen
- Performing other administration tasks as directed
Essential Criteria
- Recent and relevant experience in a medical administrative/reception role
- Experience with medical software Genie and Gentu is desirable
- An understanding of the Medicare and Private Health Insurance billing system
- High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to successfully multi-task and provide efficient timely administrative support in a fast-paced busy environment
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team environment
