The Practice
We are a busy specialist surgical practice located at St Leonards only a short stroll from St Leonards station. The practice specialises in Voice, Upper Airway, Paediatric and General ENT disorders.
The team consists of two specialist surgeons, Practice Manager, medical receptionists and a Registered Nurse.
Great team dynamics and a warm culture where everyone rolls their sleeves up works hard, supports one another and enjoys it at the same time.
The computerised booking and accounting system is Genie software and the practice is a paperless practice.
The Role
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday and the hours are
8am-8.30am (start time) and finish time is between 5pm-5.30pm at St Leonards. However will consider someone working only four (4) days per week.
Your role is predominantly working at the St Leonards practice, however every fortnight, you will be required to travel one day per week to the Drummoyne practice (parking available onsite at Drummoyne) and then the alternate fortnight travel one day per week to the Waterloo practice.
The Duties and Responsibilities are:
- Providing an outstanding level of customer service in person and over the phone to patients and all health professional
- Efficiently and accurately managing patient appointments, procedure bookings, inputting patient data and filing of correspondence using Genie medical software
- Editing and formatting of letters and reports (typed using voice recognition)
- Processing of patient consultations and surgery billing
- Completion of end of day reconciliations
- Co-ordination of theatre bookings and surgical lists
- Marketing
- Liaising with other health care professionals and hospital staff
- Providing administration support to the specialists and Practice Manager
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- Previous Medical Receptionist/Secretary experience in a specialist practice is highly regarded, however willing to train a medical receptionist from a GP/allied health environment
- Previous experience with Genie is highly regarded
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- You are warm by nature and display professionalism at all times
- A high standard of personal integrity – trustworthy, loyal and honest.
- Maintain confidentiality in relation to patient information and practice matters
- You take pride in providing a high standard of work and work values
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Remain calm and work well under pressure and in a busy environment
- Able to work well independently, but also as part of a team.
