The position is a part time 0.8FTE (four days), two-year contract.

The role of Membership and Events Coordinator is integral to Destination Southern Tasmania's (DST) operations. It works directly with the CEO and is based in Southern Tasmania, Hobart.
This role will work directly with the incredible tourism operators that form the membership of DST as well as assisting with the delivery of our events stream. In addition to this, you will work with the CEO to manage the board of Directors with administrative support.
In this role, you will work closely with Tourism Tasmania, the government, peak bodies, directors and our wonderful DST members.
You will be creative, fun, bold and ready to challenge the norms and have some fun.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Engage with and support DST members by regularly visiting businesses
- Service and increase DST's membership
- Support the delivery of events
- Assist the CEO with board meetings and minutes

Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in positively supporting tourism businesses
- The kind of personality that people are drawn to and reflects our values
- Ability to assist with the delivery of events
- Capacity to manage multiple projects within timelines and budget
- Work with stakeholders and members to grow the organisation
- Experience in running a small business would be ideal

Selection Criteria:
- Minimum three years of experience in the tourism, marketing and Events sector
- Exceptional customer service and a positive attitude
- Demonstrated ability to work in a small team environment and what you will bring to this
- Demonstrated experience in positively supporting stakeholders and business owners
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the capability to identify and foster relationships
- Ability to work autonomously and a capacity to make decisions with or without the direct guidance of a supervisor
- Capacity and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects within budget and timelines.
