We are looking for dedicated employees who share our vision and would like to work with us to provide quality care to NDIS participants.
As a Mentor/Support Worker, you will provide exceptional service and quality care whilst supporting Your Choice Matters clients to meet their goals as set out in their NDIS plan.
You’ll be a passionate advocate for others and be responsible for providing appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve our clients’ level of independence. You must be able to display a culturally sensitive manner within all your interactions while being involved in a variety of duties and tasks, including personal care, participation in the community, daily living skills and capacity building.
You will be a dedicated team player who enjoys encouraging clients to improve their quality of life and be comfortable assisting clients to build a safe home to live in where they can feel valued and appreciated.
Having genuine care for, and showing an interest each day in reaching positive outcomes and reaching goals for clients, is a must.
Qualifications & Experience:
Certificate 3 in Disability/Individual Support/Community Services or higher (or willing to enrol).
Experience within the Disability sector, including evidence of supporting participants with complex/challenging behaviours.
Current First Aid & CPR
Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Police Check
Current Australian Drivers License
NDIS check/Disability Check
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Motivating clients to be involved in community activities. Examples of this may include nature walks and local tours, accessing the recreation and other social-based activities
Assisting participants with independent living skills such as cooking meals, grocery shopping and budgeting
Assisting participants with personal care tasks
Supporting participants in their homes, including on overnight sleepover shifts
Working well with others in a team, while being relied upon to work unsupervised in a 1:1 setting
Keeping accurate and complete records of activities via progress notes, ensuring these are prepared in a timely manner
Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct
Shifts located in northern and central suburbs of Adelaide. MUST be available for a full time roster.
