Our client, NEPEAN Conveyors provides fully engineered turnkey conveying and materials handling solutions, from concept to commissioning for some of the world's largest mining companies. Established in 1985, it manufactures and markets conveyor components including pulleys, idlers, rapid advance-rapid retreat components and drive-heads, and provides on-site installation, maintenance, and relocation of conveyor installations.
Our Opportunity
Due to exponential growth, NEPEAN Conveyors have opportunities for several Metal Fabricators to join the team. These positions are full-time permanent opportunities, based in Mackay.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Welding of Structural Steel Assemblies post-fabrication. Welding and Fabrication to AS1554 Part 1 SP from workshop drawings. MIG Welding (bare wire, flux). Read and interpret technical drawings. Operate relevant machinery as required. Reporting of plant faults/breakdowns. Manufacture, guillotining, welding, grinding, drilling, polishing to trade requirements. Fabricate all work in accordance with job sheets and drawings. Use of fabrication checklist to aid manufacturing process. Advise Supervisor/Workshop Manager when witness and hold points on Inspection & Test Plan (I.T.P) have been maintained. Maintain cleanliness of fabrication work
Skills and attributes Trade qualified (Cert III in Fabrication advantageous) or certified Welder with 5+ years’ experience. Experienced in Conveyors systems. A proven track record of achievement in a similar role Exceptional attention to detail skills A current forklift license and the overhead gantry is desirable but not essential.
This opportunity is a unique in-house role that allows for internal growth.
Salary range is $35.50 - $37.21 per hour commensurate with experience.
