Based in Brisbane, the Meter Data Analyst is a key member of a team providing Meter Data services and analytics. The role involves analysing of systems and process, resolving Meter Data exceptions, ensuring Meter Data services are provided in accordance with the National Electricity Market rules and meet all the Service Level requirements of the NEM and Powermetric’s customers. This requires a sound understanding of the NER’s data requirements and other SLA agreements. The role will require interaction with internal stakeholders within the broader Shell Energy group and externally with customers, competitors, and service providers as well as providing support to the Powermetric team, the IT support team and to the wider business with other duties as required.

The responsibilities below relate specifically to the contestable metering business with a primarily role to provide Meter Data services in relation to the day to day and long-term sustainable operations of the business. Key components of the role include the following:
- Processing Meter Data validation exceptions by, analysing data trends, managing meter alarms, and system alerts, ensuring quality data and substitutions in compliance with the National Electricity Market rules;
- Ensuring high levels of quality, quantity and timely delivery of Meter Data to the NEM and customers;
- Resolution of customer enquiries/data enquires and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction with timely and accurate responses;
- Ensuring Meter Data services are provided in accordance with the NER, customers SLA’s, ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and AS/NZS4801;
- Ability to develop, maintain and ensure compliance with work procedures and make decisions in line with market and business requirements;
- Analysing Powermetric’s Meter Management System, Meter Data configuration, meter reading, metering issues/exceptions and lead the speedy and accurate resolution to ensure the continuance of timely and accurate delivery of Meter Data services to customers and other electricity market participants;
- Supporting the development of monitoring and reporting tools to assist in early identification of performance constraints and issues within the metering management system and help develop solutions with the software development team;
- Reporting and assisting in analysing system exceptions, performance constraints and issues with metering systems and develop solutions with Shell Energy software development team; and
- Be an integral part of the Powermetric team, assisting with overall strategy and accomplishment of targets.
What you’ll bring
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Metering experience in an AEMO accredited MDP business;
- Working knowledge of Meter Data requirements NER and MSATS;
- Ability to develop and utilise intermediate SQL queries;
- Excellent analytical mindset and tenacity for complex problem solving;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timeframes with good attention to detail; and
- Understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and AS/NZS4801 policies and process.
