This role will lead PHA’s HAZOPS and Safety Assessments as well as providing continuous oversight and assistance with MHF programs on both of our Australian sites, specifically ensuring that control measures are held to a high degree of compliance.
Reporting to the MHF & Process Safety Manager, this role requires someone who has sound technical knowledge in the implementation of risk evaluation methodologies within the chemical manufacturing industry to successfully manage Process Safety for our 24/7 Major Hazard Facilities in Australia.
Other Responsibilities include:
- Assist the MHF & PSM Manager with regulatory and Hexion compliance initiatives in MHF (Safety Case), PSM and Site Security.
- Assist Site Leaders with MHF compliance activities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Safety Management System (SMS) Procedures to satisfy AU EHS Regulations with respect to the operation of Major Hazard Facilities
- Develop the ability to lead the identification of major incidents (MI’s) and major incident hazards (MIH’s) across all AU Sites
- Develop the ability to conduct a comprehensive and systematic assessment (consequence and likelihood of occurrence: quantitative or qualitative) of all MI’s and MIH’s across all AU sites and evaluate the risk of operations
- Develop the ability to provide expertise in quantitative (consultant led) and semi-quantitative analysis (LOPA) for sites in the region.
- Develop, write, and maintain documentation on risk control measures and safety critical elements across all AU sites
- Assist in the development of bench strength in the region for HAZOP leaders. Lead PHA’s as required.
- Participate and assist with regional Process Safety Management Audits.
- Participate in Management and Variance Reviews with Sites
- Assist with the implement Corporate Risk Engineering initiatives.
- Lead specialized initiatives when required.
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience in the implementation of risk evaluation methodologies
- At least 5 years of operational /project/process engineering experience in chemical plants
- Proficiency in using and applying SAP systems especially maintenance platform
- Must have good organizational and communication skills.
- Must have a working knowledge of systems and practices in field of expertise.
- Must be familiar with Australian safety, environmental, Process Safety, engineering, and Industrial Hygiene standards and regulations.
- Must be able to identify risk issues.
- Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or equivalent education and experience
- Familiarity with CMMS systems.
- Ability to travel to other ANZ sites when required
