An emerging opencut copper operation close to Cloncurry seeks to appoint an experiencedMine Geologist. This newly created permanent opportunity offers the opportunity to assist establishing the mine geology function for an emerging producer.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Management of grade control systems
- Providing geological input to production
- Pit Mapping and continued improvement of ore body knowledge
- Assist with development & material mark-up
- Monthly mine reconciliations
- Management of ROM and stockpile systems
- Mentoring geo-technicians
This role is offered on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Townsville or Cairns, or on a residential basis in Cloncurry (relocation & location allowances provided). As an ideal candidate, you will be a tertiary qualified geologist with a solid background in opencut production within hardrock operations (e.g. 2-3+ years post-grad experience). Proficiency in Deswik will be advantageous.
