About Jacinth-Ambrosia
Jacinth-Ambrosia is located 270 kilometres north of the Port of Thevenard, near Ceduna. It is the world’s largest source of zircon, and a Tier 1 deposit with extensive reserves. It is the first mining development in a mixed-use regional reserve – the Yellabina Regional Reserve – in South Australia, with the operation demonstrating a commitment to high environmental standards and progressive land rehabilitation. Jacinth-Ambrosia site has a fully equipped modern camp with facilities including a gym, pool, sports courts, recreation rooms, Wi-Fi and Foxtel.
About The Role
The primary role of the Mining Manager is to provide leadership of the mining contractor and technical mine planning to ensure alignment with company objectives.
As a major operational management role, this position offers the opportunity to make a real difference by championing improvements, building great teams and challenging the norm.
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be accountable for the following:
- Providing professional technical support to ensure optimal mining activities
- Leading the mining engineering, geology, survey and earthworks departments to maximise value to the business across the entire operation
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement as a member of the Jacinth Ambrosia Leadership team, and acting as the single point of accountability for site in the absence of the Operations Manager
- Dealing effectively as the senior representative with major contracts directly associated with the mining operation
- Developing workable solutions to complex and unique issues in an environment characterised by conflicting priorities and financial and resource restraints
- Building effective relationships with other operational sites and corporate functions to increase profitability across the entire value chain
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have
- Tertiary qualification in a technical discipline
- Demonstrated understanding of mineral separation techniques and engineering processes with considerable experience in operations and mine planning
- Demonstrated competence in a management role in a major resource environment, specialising in the provision of technical services support, managing, motivating and leading teams and implementing change
- Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication skills
