Position descriptionWe seek an enthusiastic Laboratory Department Manager to join our rapidly expanding Molecular Biology laboratory using the latest technologies. Based in Macquarie Park and reporting directly to the Chief Laboratory Officer, you will be an influential leader and your responsibilities will include the following:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory and delivering exceptional patient care in a fast paced healthcare environment.
- Taking charge of staff schedules and mentoring staff to ensure highest levels of performance.
- Ensuring the department remains innovative and efficient by ensuring best practice improvements are incorporated, as required.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders, such as pathologists and managers, to ensure compliance to internal policies and procedures.
- Networking with clients to positively promote our company and continuously strengthen stakeholder relationships.
We are looking for the following:
- Minimum B. Applied Science (Biomedical) or equivalent.
- Knowledge, skills and experience in molecular techniques with at least 10 years’ experience.
- Ability to manage a large team within our management group.
- Ability to work within our Medical Leadership culture and to actively demonstrate leadership qualities that align with our Core Values.
- Possess effective organisation and communication skills.
- An in depth understanding of the pathology industry, proficiency in clinical department processes and a strong focus on attention to detail.
- Highly knowledgeable in Work Health and Safety procedures, Quality systems and ANZSBT, NPAAC and NATA requirements.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS Office and Laboratory Information Systems.
- Is passionate about leading a team and can deliver on multiple and conflicting outcomes effectively.
