Our client, a federal government agency is looking to recruit an APS 4 Molecular Biology Technician in their Bioanalysis team to be involved in a wide range of lab work and support to provide genetic reference materials.
  
As a Molecular Biology Technician, you will be performing DNA extraction and PCR methodology to analyse biological samples, as well as participating in method validations, ordering of supplies and restocking reagents.
  
Your other responsibilities will also include, but not be limited to:

• - Maintaining and calibrating lab equipment
• - Preparing experimental protocols and reports
• - Organising couriers for reference material delivery

This is a great opportunity for a junior lab technician to work with one of the world leaders in measurement science! You will be exposed to a wide range of lab projects, learn about method validation, and develop solid skills and an understanding of how a federal government lab operates!
  
To be considered for this role, you will be an  Australian citizen  and have the following skills and experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in Biology or equivalent
• Experience in PCR and DNA extraction
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• High level of internal and external stakeholder interaction skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities
• Proficient skills and knowledge in Excel will be highly regarded
